SAFETY TRAVEL INFORMATION
The Seattle National is not taking place in Seattle proper but in the city of Seatac, outside of Seattle where the airport is located. Although the hotel uses Seattle in their address, they are in fact located in Seatac. Seatac does not have the same problems as Seattle yet, due to its proximity to the airport, provides easy access to the attractions of Seattle without renting a car or driving on your own into the City. Car prowls in Seattle are a serious problem. We recommend you leave your car or rental at the hotel and use either ride shares or public transport to journey into the city.
The hotel is close to Southcenter, a huge shopping and dining area in the city of Tukwila. Driving to Southcenter is easy and safe with plenty of parking. Ride shares and Taxi’s are a viable option as well.
Note that not all shops and restaurants are in the Mall, it is surrounded by others as well.
Ride share services, Uber and Lyft, are easily available due to the hotel’s proximity to the airport. Likewise, Link Light Rail service is available as well. Just take a hotel shuttle to the airport.
If you fly in, there is no need to rent a car as the hotel has frequent shuttle vans to and from the airport.
Here are some of my favorites:
If you were to ask me which Seattle attraction I would recommend most for people, my choice is the incredible Chihuly Garden and Glass. This is in the Seattle Center and is easy to get to via the light rail at the airport connecting to the monorail. Bring your cameras and enjoy this unique one-of-a-kind artist creation.
One attraction not on any common lists but important to many of us, is the grave and memorial to Jimmy Hendrix in Renton. It is an easy drive and quite memorable.
Another close attraction in the City of Renton is the Museum of Flight. For anyone interested in aviation, this a destination you will enjoy. Their static displays are some of the best in the country.
Here is a web site with many of the area’s attractions:
